Valhalla Announces Their New Cruising Yacht – The V-55 Sport

By Kimberly Smith   June 4, 2024

Top-of-the-line features, luxurious accommodations, and Viking-level performance are just some of the qualities you can expect to find onboard the just announced Valhalla V-55 Sport. A first glance at the renderings of the exciting new V-55 Sport clearly illustrate that she is an evolution in Valhalla’s V Series – a brilliant combination of the 55’ center console before her and the innovative sport yacht that she will come to be.

“The V-55 Sport represents our ability to diversify within a model to meet the needs of more owners,” says Viking President and CEO Pat Healey. “It takes the proven performance of our 55 hull and merges it with an exciting, contemporary design that the cruising crowd will love.”

A stunning profile is immediately apparently when looking at the V-55 Sport.  The swept-back, four-sided fiberglass enclosure offers tinted windows and a hardtop including a sunroof which extends to cover the summer kitchen, aft. Hidden in the hard top is a power shade for added comfort in the cockpit.

V 55 Sport Balconies

Specifically designed to maximize relaxation and outdoor entertaining, the cockpit features a large dining area with two bench seats and a table. The L-shaped summer kitchen is just forward and to starboard. Powered fold-down balconies on each side of the V-55 Sport are a highlight of the vessel with integrated boarding ladders. “The balconies consist of the entire aft sections of the hull sides, completely opening up the cockpit,” says Viking Design Manager David Wilson. “Each platform is 25 square feet, giving you more deck space and easy water access.”

If you’re wondering whether the V-55 Sport would make a good overnight or weekend vessel – it absolutely fits the bill. With a fully-equipped galley to starboard and a dinette to port (with L-shaped seating that’s convertible to a berth) there is more than enough space for provisioning and cooking on board. Overnight accommodations include two staterooms with walkaround queen berths allowing ample room for owners and their guests. The forward master is appointed with an ensuite head and separate shower. A day head, also with a separate shower, is just forward of the amidship guest stateroom.

V 55 Sport Deck

Expect a fast, stable and efficient ride on the V-55 Sport. She’s powered by four Mercury 600-hp outboards and runs on the same Michael Peters Yacht Design Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT) running surface as the V-55 Center Console.

Curious minds want to know when the V-55 Sport will be ready for the public to see for themselves. We are told that hull number one of the V-55 Sport will likely be completed in time for the 2025 Winter Boat Show Season. HMY Yachts will continue to update you on the build progress all along the way.
