HMY’s June 2024 Viking Update: Two New Models making a Splash

During the 2024 Viking Yacht Company Dealer Meeting in Atlantic City, NJ, HMY had the exclusive opportunity to view and sea trial the all-new Viking 82 Convertible. An open bridge version, this model is simply amazing. At first glance, one may need a minute to realize that the 82 is a production boat rather than a classic custom sportfish. With her accent lines in the hull, and dramatic curvature throughout, you can envision her running to the canyons at over 40 knots. During HMY’s sea trial on a fairly flat day, the team saw cruise speeds of approximately 36 knots, and a full speed of 42 knots thanks to the 82 being powered by the optional MTU 16V M96L 2635MHP engines. Throughout the rest of the vessel, it is apparent that careful attention was made to this new model. From the 230-square-foot cockpit flanked by a new lounge area at the starboard end of the mezzanine, to the updated interior layout with a dedicated rod locker and modern décor finishes, the 82 has elevated the Viking Yacht Company even further as the most predominant semi-custom sportfish builder in the world.

Valhalla V-28 Bay Boat

In June, HMY had the privilege of taking delivery of hull #5 of the Valhalla V-28 Bay Boat. A Snow-White Gelcoat Hulled with an ice-blue hardtop underside, Hull #5 will resemble a classic example of an already popular model. Powered by twin Mercury V8 300 4-Stroke CMS Cold Fusion White Engines with Optimus Steering, this vessel will be able to ride well in various water conditions while reaching the fishing grounds in a hurry. For this build, HMY made careful considerations in optioning the vessel with critical options that the majority of customers would want, such as a Release Marine Teak Helm Bench Seat Module and ProCurve Solid Curve Enclosure for the helm, ample rod and rod/cup combo rod holders throughout, and a robust electronics package from AME including dual Garmin 19” 9219 Series MFDs.

HMY Lowcountry Cup – July 3-6, 2024

HMY Yacht Sales is proud to host the 2nd Annual HMY Lowcountry Cup Billfishing Tournament in July 2024. As it was a qualifying event for the South Carolina Govenor’s Cup Billfishing Series in 2023, we are thrilled to announce that we are officially the fourth leg out of five in the series. The HMY Lowcountry Cup will consist of three fish days and competing teams can pick their best two out of three days.
